Allergies:

Allergies can cause a variety of symptoms from the obvious irritation to the nose and eyes to unremitting abdominal pain, diarrhea, skin disorders, headaches, etc. Some physicians believe that many ailments have an allergic origin. Dr. Metcalfe stresses the importance of discovering what the patients allergies are as this makes treatment easier. Allergies are most commonly caused by drugs, airborne or food substances. Airborne allergens include pollen, molds, and animal dander. The most common food allergens include shellfish, nuts, corn, wheat, soy and dairy. The symptoms for airborne and food allergies are usually a little different, and Dr. Metcalfe has divided them into two groups to help you further determine the cause. One of the easiest at home tests is to completely avoid a suspected allergen for a few weeks, then expose yourself to that allergen and see if symptoms re-occur. If you are not certain, she highly recommends blood allergy IgE and IgG testing. There are a lot of treatment options available to help you deal with your food sensitivities.

b). Food Allergies:

Dietary Changes:

Dr. Metcalfe recommends doing an Elimination diet to determine which foods or groups of foods that may be causing you problems.

Elimination Diet: For 14 days, your goal is to avoid the food or family of foods, which you suspect, may be causing your symptoms. Dr. Metcalfe highly recommends using Ultraclear Plus during this time to make avoiding the food groups easier. You must be very cautious to read labels and watch restaurant food ingredients to avoid your suspected allergen. Ultraclear Plus will also help detoxify your body while you take it. On the fifteenth day of the avoidance diet, you need to eat foods from the family that you suspect bother you. Eat a lot of this food for one day. Immediately start keeping a list of symptoms as they arise for the next four days. If symptoms arise, you can conclude that you are sensitive to the food. Your goal at this point is to avoid the food group completely, or include it in small amounts by rotating it into your diet every 4 days and take the Natural Solutions recommended below. You must repeat the 14-day cleansing and avoidance period to re-test another food group.

Drink 10 glasses of filtered water every day.
Avoid caffeine.
Buy cookbooks on how to survive without certain food groups.
